The quick exhaust valve is not a valve but a valve group, so it should be called a quick exhaust valve group, which consists of an automatic exhaust valve and a solenoid valve set in front of it. Just like the "pre-action valve group" in the pre-action system, it consists of multiple valve groups. Under normal quasi-working conditions, the solenoid valve is closed, and this quick-discharge valve can neither drain nor exhaust. Only by opening the solenoid valve, the automatic exhaust valve at the back can achieve the function of undrained exhaust. Then why did he install such a device and give it such a name that is easy to confuse with the automatic exhaust valve? In fact, it is mainly because it is mainly used in the system of pipe inflation.

The main application of    quick exhaust valve:

   (1) The dry hydrant system should be equipped with a quick exhaust valve on the top of the system pipe.

   (2) The water distribution pipe of the drying system and the pre-action system should be equipped with a quick exhaust valve.

We can see that the pipelines of these systems are filled with pressurized gas. In the quasi-working state of these systems, the solenoid valve at the front of the quick discharge valve is closed to ensure that the pressurized gas filled in the pipeline will not be discharged. In the event of a fire, the solenoid valve at the front of the quick exhaust valve is opened, which can quickly exhaust the gas, fill the pipeline with water, and prepare for the system to extinguish the fire.

  The working principle of the automatic exhaust valve is actually very simple, a bit like the ball valve in our toilet tank. When there is no water in the pipeline, the vent hole on the upper part of the valve body is in an open state and can automatically vent. When the air in the pipeline system is discharged and the water in the pipeline enters the automatic exhaust valve, the floating ball will be pushed up by the buoyancy of the water. We can see that one end of the float has a crossbar, the other end of the crossbar is fixed, and there is a push rod on the crossbar. When the push rod moves upward, the exhaust hole will be blocked. Through this simple mechanical movement, we can achieve the function of exhausting without draining water.

   Let’s take a look at the places where such an automatic exhaust valve is needed in the fire protection system:

   (1) For residential buildings with a building height of no more than 27m, dry-type fire risers can be used when hydrants are installed, and an automatic exhaust valve should be installed on the top of the risers.

   (2) The automatic exhaust valve should be set at the highest point of the pipe of the fire water supply system.

   (3) The wet automatic sprinkler system should have an exhaust valve (or exhaust port) and a sewage outlet. We can see that automatic exhaust valves are basically used on pipes that are filled with water or are not flushed. In these systems, the automatic exhaust valve can well realize the function of draining water without draining water.

   By comparison, it can be seen that the so-called quick exhaust valve is just a solenoid valve in front of the automatic exhaust valve. Quick exhaust valves are used in pipelines filled with pressurized gas under quasi-working conditions, while automatic exhaust valves are used in systems with or without water in the pipeline.
